I started working in the insurance business in 1995. In June of 2000, I opened my agency which is known as the Yarborough Insurance Agency. While some people might view insurance as boring, as an insurance agent, I enjoy getting to know my clients and understanding their true insurance needs. I like being the first person they call for help when something goes wrong in their lives. I am a lifelong South Carolina resident and grew up in the towns of Chapin and Cayce. In 1993, I graduated from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. My favorite thing to do on the weekend is to get up early, meet up with a few friends, and enjoy a nice long run while watching the sunrise over Lake Murray. In my free time, if I’m not running, biking or swimming, you will usually find me spending time with my family or volunteering at our local Prisma Health Children’s Hospital.
I have over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and have loved every second of it! I find myself to be a people person and really enjoy helping our clients with their insurance needs. The best part of my job is when someone says to me, “I sure am glad you were there to help because I had no idea what to do.” I grew up in Aiken, South Carolina and moved to Columbia in 2001. When I am not at work assisting people, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family!
I have been in the insurance industry for over 50 years now and still find new excitements in this field every day by being able to help people. I have always enjoyed helping our clients solve their insurance needs. My many years of experience have given me the knowledge to recommend the best coverage at an affordable price. It is very rewarding to be able to use my knowledge and expertise in this field to help so many people. I was born in Auburn, New York, where I graduated from Auburn Community College. I also graduated from the U.S Army Reserve’s Command and General Staff Course. I am a military history buff and enjoy reading about past world conflicts, the weapons used, and the people that fought for our beloved country.
I joined the Yarborough Agency team in 2018, but have over a decade of experience in sales, customer support and administration. I grew up in a small town right outside of Columbia SC and have a degree in Marketing. Being a very detail-oriented person, I feel it is very important to communicate and stay in touch with our clients. It’s important to listen to our clients to make sure we are helping them in the best way. It brings me joy to know that I have made them happy. When I’m not working, I’m usually with my family. Ultimately, my children bring me the most joy. My son plays baseball and my daughter is always keeping me on my toes. When I do get time for myself, I like to relax, watch TV, or go out for a nice dinner. Or who knows, you might see me in a local 5k race supporting our community.
When I'm not assisting my customers, I am home with my family. My son and daughter are my world, and they enjoy keeping me on my toes. I attend church at New Heritage in West Columbia, and I am involved with various charitable events in my community. When I have a chance to enjoy some down time, I like traveling or camping or just simply relaxing at home watching TV.
